The Right Eyeglass Frames for Your Face

At first please look in a mirror to decide the shape of your face. There are generally 7 face shapes:heart-shaped (base-up triangle), round, triangular (base down), rectangular, square, oblong and oval.

And then choose frames that are opposite of the shape of your face.
Soft face looks better with sharper-edged frames and angular face looks best with round frames.
Round face looks better with angled or square frames, make the face appear longer and slimmer. A rectangular shape and a clear bridge will widen the eyes.
Heart-shaped face is wide in the forehead and looks better with frames that is wider on the bottom to add width to the bottom part of the face.
Light-colored or rimless frame can also achieve the desired effect.
Triangular face has a narrow forehead and widen at the chin. Pick geometric frames with color on the top half.
Square face looks better with round or oval frames, which balance the angles of the face. If your jaw is heavy, try a style that emphasizes the top line of the frame. Narrow frame style that has more width than depth will make a square face appear longer.
Rectangular face looks better with round frames, which make the face seem wider.
Oblong faces looks better with round or curved frames, which take away from the length and emphasize the width. So pick frames with the upper and lower rims of the frame equal in shape. This makes the face longer. Also, choose frames  have a low bridge, which shortens the nose.
Oval face can use any type of frames. You can choose oval, round or angular.

For the third one, pick the right size of frame for your face.
To flatter your face shape by choosing frames that are neither small nor large and are in proportion to the size of the face.
The top line of the frames should  follow the curve of the eyebrows.
The frames should feel comfortable and not slip down the nose or move around on the face when you smile.

The last one, choose a color of frame that complements your face.
If you have a cool skin color, choose a cool frame color. Warm frame colors look the most suitable on warm face colors.
If you have close-set eyes, choose a 2-tone frame that is a lighter color at the bridge, which will provide an illusion of width. Also, select a frame that is as thin as possible near the nose in order to prevent interference from your reading vision.
